Description.
This is an all-inclusive course called the “Intraoral Orthotics for the Management of Temporomandibular Disorders.” Many of you have heard me in the lectures say that I construct my own orthotics in our lab and this will be the main thrust of the program.
We will be making many of the different orthotics and also demonstrating how to change the orthotics to fit any need that you might have. We will walk you step by step through the reasoning behind many of the orthotics that we use in our practice and explain what we will be trying to accomplish with each one.
This will provide each of you a better understanding and clarity behind the use of each of them. I know that we have talked about several different ones and with all this knowledge, it can get quite confusing and picking the wrong orthotic or bite relationship could doom your treatment to failure. This is true whether you want to create the orthotics in your lab or send them out to your lab of choice.
